Health and Social Care in East Kent
There is so much going on in the health and social care arena that it is hard to keep up. In East Kent we have the Multi-specialty community provider (MCP) Vanguard, Encompass developing new out of hospital care models; the East Kent Strategy Board reviewing acute provision; the development of a sustainability and transformation plan (STP) for Kent and Medway that will look at how we organise health and social care across the region; a new ‘rapid test site’ to develop and test a new enhanced primary care approach in Thanet and new care pathways, developed by the South Kent Coast CCG in partnership with voluntary organisations. Public Health are taking a new approach to their healthy lifestyle provision.
There are ‘local’ Health and Wellbeing Boards for each of the four CCGs in east Kent and details/agendas can be found online. All these meetings are ‘public’ so if you are interested in how they are operating go along and listen. All the CCGs have newsletters which you might like to sign up to, particularly if your organisation supports people with health issues, or your work has an impact on people’s health and well-being.
