Whitstable wellness week

Red Zebra's Social Prescribing Team are delighted to announce they have been successful in obtaining funding (from the National Lottery Awards for All) for a new initiative; Whitstable Wellness Week. The event will be organised in partnership with the Horsebridge Arts Centre and will take place in venues across Whitstable from Saturday 23rd to Friday 29th March 2019. The aim is to introduce people to a wide range of creative activities that are known to help people feel better; both physically and mentally. It is hoped that some participants will be encouraged to continue with these activities as a result. Activities will include arts and crafts, singing, creative writing, drama, dancing, cookery and gardening. There will also be an exhibition to showcase local organisations who are featured on the Connect Well database, that can support people living with physical and mental health conditions.

The idea for the event came from Catriona Campbell, a volunteer with Red Zebra Social Prescribing, who has helped set up the Creative Wellbeing workshops held in Whitstable. The free activities available during Whitstable Wellness Week will be open for bookings in January. For more information, please email Catriona - catriona@createinkent.co.uk.
