VOLUNTEERING

Helping you to make a difference in your local community with volunteering opportunities.

Red Zebra is helping people to improve the lives of others in their local community while developing new skills, enhancing their CVs and making new friends.

Introducing Volunteer Connect

Discover a range of volunteering opportunities on Volunteer Connect, our local, online portal and apply directly online. If you’d like local organisations to be able to get in touch with you, you can also sign up for the volunteer bank. This allows organisations who are using the site to see your basic profile (no personal details given) and contact you if they think you would be a good fit for them. This is especially great for those who are unsure of what role to apply for but have an area of interest they would like to pursue.

Face-to-face appointments

We also offer face to face volunteer appointments at our centre in the heart of Whitstable, where you can discuss your options within the local area.

For more information, please email us or visit the Volunteer Connect website using the links below.

Diabetes UK Canterbury and Coastal group

We urgently need some volunteers with basic admin experience, including use of computer/emails, to help keep our group running. Most immediately we require someone to maintain our membership records and to occasionally (between 3-6 times a year usually) distribute information to our members, for example about a forthcoming local event or attach a newsletter. The
person involved does not have to produce the documents for mailing.

Most of our members are happy to receive emails with just a few receiving communications by post. We currently have about 45 members but these include couples who only require one email/letter.

If you are able to help us, or would like more information, please call either Pam (our secretary) on 07979 553711, Dave (our chair) on 07852 464977 or, if preferred, via the Contact Us page on our website
